Farm to Table
Our processed whole chickens are raised here at Wandering Shepherd Farmstead in small, intentional batches. We currently raise Cornish Cross for classic, meaty table birds and American Bresse for rich, heritage-quality flavor. Each bird is harvested, packaged, and frozen with care. Availability changes with flock timing, processing days, freezer space, and farm workload, so all processed chicken must be confirmed before pickup.

Farm to Whisker Freeze-Dried Chicken Treats
Our Farm to Whisker treats are made in small batches from chickens raised and processed here at Wandering Shepherd Farmstead. By freeze-drying the heads, hearts, livers, and feet, we put more of every bird to purposeful use while creating simple, single-ingredient treats for dogs and cats.
Unlike conventional dehydration, which uses sustained heat, freeze-drying removes moisture at low temperatures. This helps preserve more of the ingredients’ natural flavor, shape, texture, and nutritional qualities while creating lightweight treats that are easy to store.
Our freeze-dried chicken treats contain no fillers, artificial flavors, or unnecessary ingredients. Feed them dry or rehydrated as occasional treats, training rewards, meal toppers, or enrichment. Always supervise your animal while feeding, introduce new treats gradually, and provide fresh water.
Freeze-drying does not sterilize raw ingredients. Wash your hands after handling, keep treats sealed and dry, and feed them only as a supplement to a complete, balanced diet.
Freeze-Dried Chicken Heads

Our freeze-dried chicken liver is a rich, high-value organ treat that can be served whole, broken into training pieces, or crumbled over meals.
Freeze-drying uses low temperatures instead of the sustained heat used during dehydration. This helps retain the liver’s natural flavor and nutritional qualities while producing a lightweight, shelf-stable treat pets love.
Liver is naturally rich and should be fed sparingly.

A naturally crunchy whole-prey treat that helps us put more of every farm-raised chicken to purposeful use. Freeze-drying preserves the feet without cooking while creating a lightweight, satisfying treat for dogs that enjoy chewing and varied textures.
