Rainbow Hatching Eggs are collected from our carefully managed mixed breeding flock at Wandering Shepherd Farmstead in Brooksville, Florida. Orders are offered in selected quantities based on seasonal laying, fertility checks, flock readiness, and responsible collection practices. NPIP 58-3426-E

Our Rainbow breeding flock is built for colorful egg potential, practical farmstead utility, genetic diversity, and long-term production value. The hens in this program may include Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Marans, Australorps, Wyandottes, and other productive layers selected for useful traits within our flock.

Our current breeding roosters include F1 Olive Eggers and Black Copper Marans. These males are intentionally paired and rotated to introduce blue-egg genetics, rich brown color genetics, and the potential for a broad range of shades in future generations. Depending on the genetics inherited, female offspring may eventually lay blue, green, olive, brown, cream, or other naturally varied egg colors.

Temperament matters in this program just as much as appearance and production. Roosters showing poor or unsafe behavior are not retained for breeding. Our current males are gentlemen: attentive to their hens, manageable around people, and suited to life in a working farmstead flock.

We select toward healthy structure, dependable production, useful body size, good foraging ability, and calm, manageable birds. Our goal is not simply to produce colorful eggs. We want to develop hardy, productive chickens that bring lasting value to homesteads and small farms.

Nutrition is an important part of our breeding program. We are deliberate about the feed our flock receives and incorporate fermented feed when seasonal conditions allow. This is one part of the attentive daily management we use to support flock condition, breeding readiness, and consistent production.

Because this is a mixed breeding program, the appearance, temperament, body type, and future egg color of the offspring will vary. Exact colors and traits cannot be guaranteed. That variation is part of what makes each Rainbow hatch unique.

Shipping & Fulfillment

Orders are fulfilled during the next safe express-shipping window. We schedule shipments around egg availability, flock production, weather conditions, and the carrier calendar. Because hatching eggs require responsible timing and careful handling, we cannot guarantee a specific shipping date at checkout.

Shipping rates are based on the destination and selected service and are charged at checkout. Tracking is provided once the shipping label is created. Faster shipping is strongly recommended because extended transit time, handling, vibration, and temperature changes may reduce egg viability.

Local Pickup

Local pickup in Brooksville, Florida may be available through direct coordination. It is not currently offered as an automatic checkout option, so please contact Wandering Shepherd Farmstead before ordering if you would prefer pickup.
